The lecture was organized as part of the Pavlov Institute of Physiology program "Longevity according to Pavlov", the Science on Strelka festival (September 14, 2024).
Session – Conversation with scientists: "Brain aging: will new technologies help us"?
Lectures by three scientists on the possibility of preserving, immortalizing the consciousness of an individual. Our brain ages, as does our entire body. At the moment, there are no scientific approaches or technologies that would allow creating a full-fledged clone of a personality or transferring consciousness to other media. So far, even artificial intelligence has not helped us in this. The search for ways to preserve consciousness and create a "digital copy" of a person is an active area of research in the field of neuroinformatics and philosophy.
From June to October, we hold meetings with scientists who will talk about their research in the field of aging of organisms, what experiments they conduct and what they find out in the process. We are also discussing current theories of aging, hypotheses of stopping or even rolling back aging, and by October we will be ready to talk about ideas and experiments in the field of radical life extension.
