“Epistemology and Philosophy of Science”, a quarterly peer-reviewed journal established in 2004 by the Institute of Philosophy (Russian Academy of Sciences), is planning to devote a special issue to contemporary philosophy of mind.
We invite papers that address questions including but not limited to the following: What is the nature of conscious experience? What difference does consciousness make? What could account for the unity of consciousness? What are the bearers of mental properties? Why do we ascribe mental properties to anything at all? Could a collection of minds share the very same intention? Is a purely naturalistic explanation of mind possible? Can mental states be causally efficient in a physical world?
We will also consider papers that draw on empirical work in reaching conclusions about the nature of mind and perception. Papers can be considered only if (a) they have not previously been published elsewhere, and (b) they are not being considered for publication elsewhere. The special issue of the journal will appear in early 2015.
