Will the personality survive in the teleport? And if you load it into a robot?

9 January, 2022

In the live podcast "Not artificial intelligence" Dmitry Volkov and Vadim Vasilyev, philosophers, authors of books on consciousness and personality, offer their answers to the question: will a person survive in a teleport.

In science fiction films, it is often shown how a person moves from one place to another using a teleport. A person breaks up into thousands of elementary particles, which are transferred to another place, forming an exact copy of him. Teleportation is discussed by scientists, they write scientific articles about it. Philosophers ask the question: is teleportation possible? Will the personality be preserved after the person disintegrates into atoms, and then reassembles? Or will it be a different person? And what happens if a person's personality (consciousness) is loaded into a robot?
