9 January, 2022

This is a recording of a report made within the framework of the seminar "Brain: Frontiers of Cognition" of the Institute for Advanced Brain Research of Moscow State University under the leadership of the director of this Institute, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, MD Anokhin K.V.

"Modern philosophy of mind has a rich arsenal of solutions to the mind-body problem, which are motivated by an attempt to close the so-called failure in explanation and build the most adequate naturalistic ontology. This richness is the result of progress in clarifying the very concept and problem of mind. The purpose of the report is to give an idea of the current state of affairs in the philosophy of mind, the main approaches and trends in solving the mind-body problem, the relationship of philosophical and empirical theories of consciousness, as well as prospects for further research."

The speaker is Anton Kuznetsov, Ph.D., researcher at the Center for Consciousness Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University.
