Kuznetsov A.V. - The illusion of illusionism: is the thesis about the illusory nature of consciousness justified?

Abstract: The center of discussions about the nature of consciousness has long been occupied with the concept of qualia. At first glance, it seems that the presence of qualia is self-evident and they are a key component of any conscious state. It is often said that they are inexpressible, simple, private and have special direct access to them. It's hard to resist the idea of qualia. But, according to illusionists, it is not only possible, but also necessary, since the reality of qualia is a mistake, an illusion. This means that the problem of consciousness is simpler and by no means mysterious. The report is devoted to the analysis of illusionist argumentation and its effectiveness.
