This paper is devoted to the causal-libertarian account of free will by one of the leading contemporary analytic philosopher R. Kane. His theory is in line with modern physics and lay people’s intuitions about free will. The core of Kane’s theory is his argument about the Ultimate Responsibility. The author of this paper critically examines Kane’s theory and finds it objectionable. Firstly Kane’s libertarian account of free will doesn’t allow for ultimate responsibility. And secondly conditions for freedom and moral responsibility required by Kane’s libertarianism could seldom be realized in the actual world
