Anton Kuznetsov gave a lecture at the Science 0+ Festival.
The lecture is devoted to the question of whether consciousness is possible in artificial intelligence systems and how one can meaningfully reason about this issue at all. Kuznetsov approaches the problem through the classical philosophical problem of other minds and shows that we currently have neither a theory of consciousness nor reliable tests that would allow us to determine whether AI possesses it. The lecture ultimately discusses arguments for and against artificial intelligence consciousness and concludes that the question will probably be resolved not so much by a scientific discovery as by a gradual change in our concepts of consciousness.
